Not Quite, But Alright

There have been 3 CWs confirmed to be released for the AJ XI IE Low later this year, 2 originals and 1 new. Today, Ya Boy’s got a peek at the new, a white/black/silver joint that has elephant print in the mudguard and that blue tinted icy sole. Can’t say that these are a retail cop (I believe they’re MSRPing for $110), but if (when) they hit the outlets, they probably’ll be worth the 85 bucks of so that they’ll be marked down to.

Looking Forward To Next Year

You would think that when the Lakers were dumped in the 2nd round, Ya Boy would likewise be in the dumps and in straight crisis mode like these cats I hear on the TV/radio. Some perspective: Ya Boy is also a Cubs’ fan, so resting hope on the next season is standard modus operandi. Okay, enough babblin’…here’s a look at a couple different samples of next year’s Zoom Kobe VII. Still sporting a low cut (although it looks a little more midcut than before) and a new texture on the upper that continues to fall in line with the whole mamba motif, Ya Boy is really diggin’ the direction the midsole is taking. It Was Bound To Happen

With the plethora a Nike/JB joints that have received the Cool/Wolf Grey treatment, it was only a matter of time before the ZK VI got the same. Well folks, the time has come with this look at a future release of Kobe’s kicks all dressed up in a “cool” grey CW.

In The Vault…

…literally. Baltimore Orioles’ pitcher Jeremy Guthrie recently gave a small glimpse of his sneaker collection on twitter. Dude has his stuff locked up in a custom vault built into his crib (homeboy must not be married). Off top, Ya Boy can spot some Concords, McFlys, True Blues, and some XI Cleats. Not bad, not bad at all.

Debate Over

There’s a lot of very nifty sneakers coming out sporting lovely shades of grey, but Ya Boy, with the help of these new detailed pics, has found the winner to enter into my arsenal. Check out these Penny 1s and try to find some grey joints that are FRESHer…including the Cool Grey XIs from last year!

Imitation Is The Greatest Form Of Flattery (Pt 2)…

…and in this case, unFRESHness! I understand Crocs are big time (I don’t understand why however) and I understand trying to cash in on this fact, but c’mon Nike these are GARBAGE!!! The Nike HTM Solar Soft Sandal might do well with the senior citizen/gardening/nursing demographics, but you won’t catch Ya Boy dead in these joints. I don’t have a release date and don’t want one, sorry.

Too Blue

With these news pics, go ahead and scratch the AJ V Black/Metallic Silvers off my wish list. The shoe looks good, don’t get me wrong, but the blue tint on the translucent soles just kills it for Ya Boy. I understand that it helps to prevent the icey soles from turning yellow, at least that’s what “they” say, but it just doesn’t sit right. It looked bad on the Cool Grey XIs and even badder on these joints! I mean c’mon, Nike’s makin’ a gazillion dollars…they can’t design something that doesn’t yellow or at least can be cleaned/cleared with some type of household cleaning product?

I’ve heard that these’ll be droppin’ either in late Spring or as a June QS…so if you see ‘em before me, let Ya Boy know…PLEASE!

More 3s, More Grey

And Ya Boy ain’t complainin’. First look at another pair of IIIs that are set to drop later this year, this time rockin’ an all grey motif. Now the only question is do I go with these joints or the stealths? Or better yet, do I say f**k it and gran ‘em both?
